NOV. 5 – DAY 5
THE CALL: INDIVIDUALS – PROFESSIONALS
1 Corinthians 12:27-28
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28 And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues.
Professionals are Christians who desires to integrate their faith, vocation, and heart for North Korea. Whether it is healing bodies, minds, or relationships, helping with strategy and systems, providing guidance on legal and governmental policies, or translating the lingo of IT, social media, or finances, they are needed for the success of the Great Harvest by two crucial groups: Fieldworkers and Fellows.
Fieldworkers rely on the expertise of professionals in different sectors —from administrative to husbandry, from counselors to transportation experts, business strategists to law consultants — to support the work they do.
Great Harvest Fellows also need introductory know-how skills and help to sustainably set up various infrastructure (e.g.: legal, taxes, IT systems, counseling, etc.) needed for life on the field.
How is God inspiring you to use your vocation in support of the Harvest?
PYONGSONG – UNJONG HI TECH DEVELOPMENT ZONE
The Pyongsong-Unjong Hi Tech Development Zone is the only SEZ located within Pyongyang city limits, sitting on the border of Pyongsong City. This “national priority project” is being developed in concert with the Academy of Sciences to act as a hub for both research and commercial tech ventures. Considered North Korea’s Silicon Valley, Pyongsong is home to 285,000 people, Anguk Temple, and the Taedonggang Textile Factory. Fun facts: Founded in 503, Anguk Temple was not damaged in the war and is used as a background for many NK movies.
Adore the Father who made heaven and earth for being your help! Praise God for His diligence in watching over you. Glorify God for building His house in North Korea. Worship Him with awe for protecting our North Korean siblings.
Confess our own individual and corporate Juche principles (self-reliance habits) that denies God is our help. Confess the tendency to idolize working unsustainable hours and refusing God’s rest and providence.
Thank God for the children – fieldworkers, fellows, and North Korean. They are next generation leaders. Celebrate their lives with blessings and joy before God.
Pray for parental wisdom. Pray for the children as they also prepare for the harvest adventure with their parents and Jesus. Ask the Father to draw many passionate professionals to Great Harvest 2027.
