What We Believe

Core Values and Faith

The Inherent dignity and value of every person, created by God

Core Values

Collective Calling

We believe that God is calling the global Church -- with our many parts and giftings -- to come together to fulfill our calling to reach the ends of the earth, including the nation of North Korea. We believe the people of North Korea is precious to God, with her own unique role and contribution to make in the world.

Humility, Openess, Integrity

As a demonstration of love and building trust, we desire to share experiences, knowledge, and resources in an atmosphere of openness and understanding. We accomplish this in words and actions that display an attitude of openness and service. We commit to being people of our word, honest, and trustworthy.

Relationship

We value relationships founded on love and trust. We aspire to build relational bridges between different people, communities, and nations. We also value our relationship with God’s creation as humans tasked with stewarding and nurturing it toward wholeness and fruitfulness.

Peacemaking

As children of God, we pursue peace (shalom) -- a holistic well-being within each person that extends into relationships with one another and creation. We also view conflict as an opportunity to deepen understanding and openness to one another.

Greater Unity

We seek to facilitate working together in unity that allows us to accomplish things far beyond what we could do alone. We also celebrate the diversity within our unity; we acknowledge and affirm our own and one another’s God-given uniqueness in who we are, what we do, in our strengths, and our weaknesses.

Justice, Mercy, Reconciliation

We desire to mend and heal broken relationships through various practices such as seeking justice, acknowledging and righting wrongs through confession/ repentance/ lament, extending forgiveness and mercy, and restoring relationships through reconciliation.
